Tip Sheet

It's best to go to Disney-MGM Studios - like Epcot - early in the week, while most other people are rushing through Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom.

Check the tip board periodically for attractions with short wait times that you can visit between Fastpass appointments.

Be at the Fantasmic! Amphitheatre at least 60 minutes before showtime if you didn't book the Fantasmic! dinner package.

If you plan to have a fast-food lunch, try to eat early or late. The Disney-MGM counter-service places get especially packed between 11 and 2:30.

Touring The Park

Arrive well before the park opens. When it does go up Hollywood Boulevard, hang a right at Sunset Boulevard, and dash to the 13-story Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. You can make a Fastpass appointment here, then go next door to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. After your Twilight Zone plunge, you may want to get a Fastpass for a second go-round on your favorite of these two thrill rides. Make the Great Movie Ride at the Chinese Theater your next stop. If you're still waiting to return for your Fastpass appointment at the Tower of Terror or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, catch Lights, Motors, Action! - Extreme Stunt Show or, if you have small children, Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage! When you've used your Fastpass, head over to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! You can get a Fastpass to the Indy stunt show if they're jammed.

For lunch, grab a sandwich on the run at the ABC Commissary, or do a sit-down meal at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, where you can sit in a 1950s-era convertible and watch B-movie film clips. Then take in the Magic of Disney Animation and return to Indiana Jones if you're holding a Fastpass appointment. Afterward, dash over to Star Tours, where you should take a Fastpass timed ticket unless the line is very short. While you wait for your appointment, catch Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3-D or the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade. If there's still time before your Star Tours return, check out Sounds Dangerous Starring Drew Carey or the Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour.

Keep your Star Tours appointment, and then let the kids scramble around on the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, or explore Sunset Boulevard, where the shops sell much of the same merchandise as those on Hollywood Boulevard but are less crowded. If there's time, try to catch a late performance of Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage! Finally, line up for a grand finale to cap the night with fireworks, lasers, fountains, and the cast of popular Disney characters - Fantasmic! Remember to turn at the gate for one last look at the Earful Tower, its outlined in gold lights.
